Project 365
I have been curled up on the couch fighting a scratchy throat, stuffy nose cold ick and been totally uninspired to post. It is only the commitment I made to do 365 that made me lift my camera yesterday (at 10:50, mind you…just after I took the Tylenol PM that would soon send me crashing into a deep slumber). So in lieu of a real post bemoaning our visit to the Orthopedist a few days ago, you get 3 of my 365 pictures and maybe tomorrow I’ll be refreshed to write a real post.

Tea is a cup of life. ~Author Unknown

Funny enough, the picture taken as I was passing out from my cold and drugs is my favorite so far of the year. Of course, I love that mug that I was drinking my tea from.
Hopefully in the next few days I’ll be up to posting about the other stuff going on. Our trip to the Ortho. The breakdown of a pre-teens freedom into servitude and restriction.
For now I give in to my headache while my daughters eat each other as I wait for Archie to return home from work to make a grocery list and leave again.

That’s it for this week! Check out more amazing winners over at Lotus’!!
And if you’re curious, the reason that gorgeous cheesecake picture has the title it does is because it was the worlds most beautiful cheesecake but because I had make it in a larger pan than I was used to I’d undercooked it…so it was gorgeous, but ultimately inedible.

I’m trying to play catch up in my hundreds of pictures (finally) that I’ve taken in the past few months and not edited at all. This is batch 1. Taken in Nashville, Indiana. We had some family visiting from out of town and the entire family headed down to Nashville for some shopping and walking. I hauled along my camera and got some shots. I really want to head back down with another photog and just take a photo walk (and drive through BC during full color). Anyway, without further ado – the shots all taken with my Canon Rebel XTi.
More coming next week…or during the week. Whenever I manage to get them out!! I’m trying to catch up, but there’s a LOT!

I took this picture yesterday and it was just too perfect not to post. I’m simply calling it “Blue”.

All photos were taken with my Canon Rebel XTi. No editing on any of them except for size.
This week was filled with visits with family, sewing for Christmas presents, storms, and a “snake bite”. Pictures in order:
1. 3 cousins all w/in 2 years of each other. It was “Serious” business, donch know?
2. The girls climbed up onto Papa’s lap of their own free will for a story – first time it’s ever happened!
3-6. Sewing projects. My fav shots of the week.
7-8. Bad storms on Tuesday. These pics are two fronts colliding to bring the second wave of massive storms.
9. My “snake bite”. Was playing with the dog and got my arm caught in the choke collar. It hurts like hell, and Archie and the girls decided it looked like a snake bite!

I really didn’t get out my camera much this week. I’ve spent the second half of the week playing with my sewing machine instead of my camera. So, I decided to bring out some of the pictures that I didn’t get to in last week’s showoff of our photo shoot. These were all taken on the White River – where it becomes more of a creek when it’s not raining and runs through our local park. When I was taking the kids around town, we stopped in the park and seeing some other people playing in the river I impulsively took the kids down. The last few pictures were after we were done and I was cleaning the sand off my feet, the girls were changed and running around.
Now go check out some others, over at Lotus‘ place while I stare longingly at the photography courses in my local colleges course catalog.

I took the kids out today in an attempt to do a photo shoot of the kids for my family. I am fairly pleased with the results except that I only got one really decent shot of the three of them together. But, at least I got the ONE, which is great! This is only a small sampling of some of the great shots I got!! There’s a whole section of the kids wading into the creek, getting their clothes soaked…I’m definitely happy with my first official intentional photo shoot!!

It’s my turn to show off pictures from the nature walk. I’m ashamed to say, I think his might be better. But, my pictures were all manually set and focused where his were all auto. Is that a valid defense?
P.S. I know the bat is out of focus, but even the pro’s that were there were having trouble because of where the sucker was located – and we weren’t allowed flash to snap him for obvious reasons…but between Brandon and I that’s the best we got.

All About Brandon,

This weekend Brandon and I went on a dusk photography nature walk with a couple of photographers at the local nature park. They praised him (as do I) for his attempts to capture everything without a hint of hesitation. The results of his attempts are astounding…and shown below-I’m impressed…are you? (P.S. My pics coming in the next day or two)
